Dinner at "how do you roll?"
August 30, 2010
I really like to make sushi my way and "how do you roll" makes that so easy. If you haven't read my other posts about HDYR (formerly known as Maki) then I'm not making much sense. They're sort of like Subway or Chipotle, just sushi.

Gaetano loves to make his own rolls too - thatsa m'boy! This time he had Escolar with avocado, strawberry, and tofu skin, topped with masago.

On the left is tuna with spicy sauce, spicy crawfish, mango, cream cheese and strawberry. On the right is tuna, cream cheese, green onion and pineapple. If you haven't tried putting fruit in your sushi, you're seriously missing out!

I've previously blogged about how do you roll? and this time, I rolled alone. I was going for a dress fitting and decided to go ahead and eat some sushi for dinner prior to my appointment since I had some time.

I absolutely love that I can get sushi the way I want without feeling like I am hassling the server to leave things out of pre-defined roll options. Plus, if I have a roll I like elsewhere I can almost always re-create it here.
