1. Can soup help heal the sick? I may never know...

Last night I made soup for my boys as a somewhat desperate and selfish attempt to make them feel better. My husband Dan has been sick for a week now, congested more than he's ever been in his life (to his recollection at least which isn't saying a whole lot). The creamy sauce is made with a little bit of reduced-fat cream cheese, some honey, a few tablespoons of milk and a touch of butter.

Instead of my usual simple red sauce, I changed it up a bit with some lemon olive oil and asparagus. The result is a dish I'm calling, Chicken & Four Cheese Ravioli with Asparagus Red Sauce.

8. Turkey & Tomato Panini, Pineapple Coffee Cake, and Ham & Cheese Casserole

Of course we had Turkey & Tomato Panini; we've made that a brunch staple in our house. To the right of the panini is the Pineapple Coffee Cake. Bottom left is a piece of ham steak, left over from making the Ham & Cheese Casserole (bottom right).
